SUPERVISION GROUP - With Experential Focus

An innovative supervision group is offered in Workshop or Group basis by Glenys, and colleague Brenda Todd, also a Psychologist and Psychotherapist with many years experience in private practice.

Based on a method presented by Rudolf Mattess at an 1998 ANZAP meeting, the Supervision Group involves role plays. After a short introduction to the technique, a difficult therapeutic situation presented by one supervisee is experienced by all participants in the ?here and now?. The precise format used facilitates identification with both therapist and patient/client. The technique is valuable in that its role-play format specifically allows the important elements of transference and counter-transference to be highlighted and explored in the simulated therapeutic presentation. Structured evaluation is included, and thorough processing of the experience is also an important aspect of the method.

Best suited to therapists with some experience, the method is available in one or two day Workshop format, in local or rural settings, or with fortnightly Groups in Armadale.
