This course is for people who struggle with low self-esteem, despite all their struggles to feel good about themselves. It is designed to help conquer the pervasive belief, in spite of all sorts of positive external indicators, or all sorts of reassurance to the contrary, that they do not "measure up". People with low self-esteem and insecurity are often left with the firmly-held unshakable sense that they are not attractive enough, or too selfish, or have not achieved enough, or.....simply that there is something inherently NOT OKAY about them.
This course will provide new techniques and understanding to help work towards a more positive self-concept. Understanding is often the first step toward change. The course will first explore the general principles underlying the ability to feel valuable and worthwhile. It will then offer specific steps designed to increase self-esteem.
Based on the work of Carolynn Hillmann and others, this 6 week course will be run by Glenys Yaffe and Alan Steele.
